The Education Department, Gujarat along with All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) has held "Smart Gujarat for New India "Hackathon 2017" involving all Universities in Gujarat. A Hackathon was a 36-hrs nonstop digital programming competition during which student's team compete to offer innovative solutions for any given problem statement. MHRD along with 29 Union Ministries had jointly hosted National Level Hackathon last year in which teams from Gujarat had won eight Awards while solving digital challenges provided by five Union Ministries.
To take the spirit forward, the Education Department, Gujarat has organised the above event 1st time and it was State level event. Honourable Minister of HRD, Government of India has written to the State Government to participate in MHRD "Hackathon 2018". One of the key USP of that Program was that the problem statements will directly come from different Government Departments under GoG based on their requirements which will be used to challenge students for developing innovative digital solutions.
Total 32 challenges have been finalized by GPRD Cell, IITGn, Gandhinagar are as under:
